Jelena Visković (1989) is a Zagreb born, Belgrade raised visual artist based in London. Her work focuses on games, leisure spaces and the narratives they produce through time and place. In her research and work she responds to new and old technologies, social organisational platforms, and public spaces. Looking at gestures as a critical element of knowledge creation, her animated sculptures incorporate playful, speaking objects and characters that make their way into technologically deterministic, seemingly inanimate systems. Borrowing from a cartoonish, carnivalesque logic, these objects become rebellious but approachable. Her work was shown at Eugster || Belgrade (2024), HDLU (Zagreb, 2024), U10 (Belgrade, 2023), VO Curations (London, 2023), MGLC (Ljubljana, 2022), HKW (Berlin, 2021) and AQB (Budapest, 2021).
